COUTERWEIGHT SET FOR CUSTOMIZED PUTTERS

The counterweight set includes one 70 gram weight, two 45 gram weights and one counterweight wrench. This counterweight set allows you to experiment what weight is needed to put the vibration dead spot between the hands so that vibration is felt by each hand equally.  

70 GRAM COUTERWEIGHT

This 70 grams weight is our midsize counterweight that helps you to slow down your putting stroke, but still with a solid feel and at the same time increases the stability of the putter.  

45 GRAM COUTERWEIGHT

The 45 gram counterweight is our most frequently used weight to improve the balance of the putter. It can also be used in combination with a second 45 gram weight to add a total of 90 grams, which is the most weight we would recommend adding to our putters.

COUTERWEIGHT WRENCH

The counterweight wrench is needed to move and adjust the individual weights inside the shaft. It allows you to slide the weights up to 10” down the shaft and tighten them securely into position. The small handle is proportional designed so you don’t applying to much torque when tightening the weights.

According to a current study, professional club fitters advise using counterweights for nearly 80% of their clients. With this knowledge, Werner Nickel has developed a counterweight fitting system that builds on the performance of his already superior German engineered putters, providing a new level of club customization. Only by using Nickel Putter length adjustable grips, which are easily detached and reattached, can golfers and professional club fitters experiment with counterweight positioning without re-gripping.

According to industry experts, counterweights provide a stabilizing effect on the golfers swing and a damping feedback on impact with the ball. By custom fitting the counterweights in the clubs shaft to match the golfer’s unique swing style, the pendulum motion will be enhanced while evenly distributing feedback to both hands.  

When measured by the SAM Putt-Lab swing analysis system (curve), we see dramatic results between golfers using counterweights verses without. The swing analysis clearly shows the use of counterweights enhance swing stability and produce less variation, the key to a more consistent putting performance.
